Product Innovation COBRA Filter
1. Mai 2025 – With its new COBRA filter, BB Engineering is introducing a system that combines continuous large-area filtration with automated in-line cleaning. The filter was developed specifically for demanding recycling processes and enables high filtration precision even with high levels of contamination.
As a continuous filter, the system uses two filter cartridges that automatically switch between production and cleaning modes. The switchover occurs without interrupting the process, ensuring stable production with minimal operator intervention.
A key feature is the integrated WFC (White Filter Cleaning) technology. This chemical-free intermediate cleaning process, which uses superheated steam, significantly extends the service life of the filter cartridges and reduces the need for manual intervention. While the cleaning process takes about 10 hours, conventional methods require several days.
Compared to other fine filters with a throughput of 2,000 kg/h, the COBRA filter offers operating cost savings of up to 40%. Factors contributing to this include lower melt losses, reduced energy consumption, and the complete elimination of chemicals.
The COBRA filter was unveiled to the public for the first time in early April at the PRSE in Amsterdam.
