20. June 2026 – BB Engineering has introduced its new patented ValuePack spinning package featuring a two-stage filtration, designed to deliver clear benefits especially in recycling processes.

Conventional spinning packs typically use either metal powder (“sand”) or filter candles as filtration media. Sand packs are known for high melt homogeneity and are therefore especially suitable for virgin material. Filter-candle systems provide a larger filtration area, making them well suited for recycling applications. While this improves filtration performance and extends service life, it can also reduce flux rate and shear, which may negatively affect homogeneity.

The new ValuePack combines both approaches in a two-step process. First, the melt passes through a filter cartridge, where it is filtered down to 15 µm over a large surface area. It then moves through the sand chamber, where homogenization and shearing take place. This combination improves temperature and viscosity homogeneity, enhances spinning performance, and increases yarn quality.

These advantages are particularly valuable in recycling, where they support the production of higher-quality products. The system can also benefit other demanding or quality-critical applications.

Another key feature is the pressure-independent seal, which helps prevent leaks and enables a wider process window. Existing systems can also be retrofitted for the slightly longer ValuePack design.
